Meet Melissa
Empowering Prenatal Support
Melissa Medina (she/her/ella) is a compassionate and professional
full-spectrum doula based in Chicago, dedicated to supporting individuals and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. As a community-based doula, Melissa is deeply committed to advocacy, equity, and accessible care, ensuring that every family—regardless of background—receives respectful, informed, and affirming support.
Trained by both Ancient Song Doula Services and certified through DONA International, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and a culturally competent approach to her work. She has attended training by Spinning Babies and is also trained in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International, trauma-informed care, bereavement, and is a Certified Parent Educator, equipping her to support the emotional and educational needs of her clients with confidence and care.
Above all, Melissa believes that everyone deserves to be heard, seen, educated, and safe. Having a doula and prenatal support should be accessible rather than a luxury. Her work is a reflection of her passion for reproductive justice and her unwavering commitment to community. When Melissa isn’t working she is in school pursuing a degree in Public Health, cooking pasta from scratch, chasing around her two little nephews or expanding her level of support for families by taking on lactation consulting certification and becoming a Birthing from Within Childbirth Educator.
